Crime Report for Thursday, May 9, 2024

ONLY IN WISE…THURSDAY, MAY 2: COUNTY ROAD 3825 — Complainant stated she was held at gun point by a man who lived at her residence five months ago. She stated the man took her boyfriend’s truck as well as various tools. She stated a woman who also lived at the residence within the past five months was also involved. She stated the man and woman put something in her drink that drugged her to the point of passing out for 12 hours. She stated when she woke up from the previous drugging, she smoked meth and called a friend but did not report the incident to authorities. The complainant’s boyfriend who is residing in the Montague County Jail, called his ex-wife to come check on his house because he knew something was wrong. Once the ex-wife was made aware of the incident, she called and reported the incident.

ONLY IN WISE…FRIDAY, APRIL 26: PUNJABI DHABBA — A highly intoxicated man called 911 repeatedly, complaining about not being paid for a month, etc., and was continuously yelling/cussing at dispatchers. Deputy located the man outside, behind the main restaurant building on the property. He immediately began rambling/ranting about being a reincarnated Native American, the eventual destruction of America, the Mafia, Illuminati, etc. He admitted to smoking marijuana and drinking wine. He was arrested for public intoxication and later had to be subdued by jailers due to his behavior.

ONLY IN WISE…SUNDAY, APRIL 21: MOSLEY LANE — A woman advised that her husband broke into his own locked house and started attacking another man in the couple’s bedroom. The complainant then shot a round in the direction of her husband. Through investigation, it was determined not to be justified to use deadly force, and complainant was arrested.

ONLY IN WISE…MONDAY, APRIL 15: PRIVATE ROAD 4011 — A woman wanted to report threatening messages from a guy she was trying to buy cows from.

ONLY IN WISE…TUESDAY, APRIL 9: COYOTE TRAIL — A woman stated she was struck by her mother during an argument over doing chores. Deputies arrived and determined the juvenile caller was the primary aggressor of the altercation. The daughter was transported to the sheriff’s office and processed, then released to a family member.

ONLY IN WISE…SUNDAY, MARCH 31: SWITCHBACK HILL ROAD — Complainant advised a neighbor’s nephew was staying at her house for the night, and when she woke up in the morning she did not find her cellphone and keys. Complainant advised that she called her cellphone and the neighbor’s nephew answered and he stated he is drunk heading to the airport in an Uber.

Wise County Crime Report for Thursday, March 28, 2024

ONLY IN WISE…THURSDAY, MARCH 21: PRIVATE ROAD 2698 — An intoxicated man called the sheriff’s office stating he and his wife were arguing and that she hit him. Investigation later determined a minor altercation occurred with no injuries. Husband did not want wife arrested and was too intoxicated to complete any paperwork. The wife, who was sober, was allowed to leave the scene for the night, and the husband went to bed.

ONLY IN WISE…THURSDAY, MARCH 7: County Road 4849 — Complainant reported neighbors were in the street yelling and shooting guns. Deputies arrived and saw two men and one woman standing in the street yelling. One man had a shotgun and the other man and woman were holding handguns. As deputies approached, the two men turned and walked towards deputies still holding their weapons. Deputies gave commands to drop the weapons. After the second command all parties dropped their firearms. Deputies secured the weapons and educated the parties of what not to do when approaching law enforcement with firearms. The three adults stated they were outside to shoot their neighbors’ dogs due to the dogs being aggressive and coming onto their property. Deputies also educated the three on the laws regarding protecting their property and reckless shooting. As the deputies spoke to the dog owners, three large aggressive dogs attempted to attack deputies standing in the street. A deputy deployed his taser and made contact with a large pit bull. The dog retreated to his residence. Weapons were unloaded and given back to all owners.
