Decatur High School Principal Lyle Lackey will serve as acting superintendent as the district seeks the next person to lead the district.

Call that led to school lockdown likely a hoax

A call about a potential school shooter which placed Alvord ISD on lockdown last week is believed to be a swatting attempt, according to law enforcement.

ONLY IN WISE…THURSDAY, MAY 2: COUNTY ROAD 3825 — Complainant stated she was held at gun point by a man who lived at her residence five months ago. She stated the man took her boyfriend’s truck as well as various tools. She stated a woman who also lived at the residence within the past five months was also involved. She stated the man and woman put something in her drink that drugged her to the point of passing out for 12 hours. She stated when she woke up from the previous drugging, she smoked meth and called a friend but did not report the incident to authorities. The complainant’s boyfriend who is residing in the Montague County Jail, called his ex-wife to come check on his house because he knew something was wrong. Once the ex-wife was made aware of the incident, she called and reported the incident.

Possible superintendent action on Friday’s agenda

Decatur ISD leadership will be front and center at a special school board meeting Friday afternoon. The agenda includes the seating of newly-elected board members, election of board officers and naming of a superintendent or an interim superintendent.
