After closing out district play last week, Wise County will be represented by a total of four teams in the 2024 UIL girls basketball playoffs.
Ranked seventh in 4A, Decatur (28-5) will battle Wichita Falls in a first-round matchup 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bowie High School. The Lady Coyotes (5-17) finished fourth in 7-4A behind Burkburnett, Sanger and Gainesville.
The Lady Eagles went 10-0 in District 8-4A to claim the team’s first outright league title since 2015. Decatur’s district finale was a 78-22 win over Lake Worth Feb. 6.
Bridgeport (24-11) will be the third seed in 4A, and will square off against Sanger (17-13) 7 p.m. Monday at Byron Nelson High School.
The Lady Indians were 7-1 in 7-4A play, but lost the coin flip for the top seed to Burkburnett.
After claiming an 11-point win over Krum at home Tuesday, the Sissies suffered a 39-26 loss in a second-seed tiebreaker against the Lady Cats Friday at Eaton High School.
In 3A, No. 19 Paradise (27-7) draws Duncanville Village Tech School in a playoff-opening contest 7:30 p.m. Monday at Aledo High School.
The Lady Panthers claimed their second consecutive 10-3A crown with an 13-1 run, closing out district play with a 61-14 win over Valley View Tuesday.
Village Tech placed fourth in 9-3A behind Dallas Madison, Cedar Hill Trinity Leadership and Dallas Gateway Charter.
Slidell (15-15) will take the court in a bi-district Battle of the Lady Greyhounds against 1A No. 14 Throckmorton 6 p.m. Monday at Archer City High School.
Finishing third in 22-A at 8-4, Slidell rounded out its league schedule with a 48-26 win over Henrietta Midway Tuesday. Throckmorton (24-4) went 9-3 in 21-A, placing second behind second-ranked Newcastle.
