Voter registration deadline is April 4

The May 4 election will feature cities, schools, water districts and an emergency services district.

If you plan on casting a vote in the election, you’ll need to register to vote by next week.

The registration deadline for the May 4 election is Thursday, April 4.

All registered voters in Wise County will have something to vote for in May.

“In some May elections, not everybody in Wise County has a ballot because the voter may live in an area that doesn’t have an election, but this particular May, everybody in Wise County is going to have at least one thing on their ballot, because the (Wise County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1) covers almost the entire county,” Wise County Elections Administrator Sabra Srader said.

To find out if you are registered to vote, visit wcmess.com/registered. You can also call the local voter registration office at 940-626-4453.

Early voting in the election will begin April 22.

The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 23, and they must be returned by election day.
