BOYD BOIL WATER NOTICE — The City of Boyd issued a boil water notice Thursday after a water main was damaged, dropping water system pressure to below 20 PSI in the areas of East Dunlap, North Wilson and the 600 to 900 block of East Rock Island Avenue. TCEQ has required the city to notify all customers to boil water prior to consumption. The city will notify customers when the water is safe for drinking or human consumption purposes.

BRIDGEPORT MISSING PERSON — Bridgeport Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing person. Ellica Fager, a 17-year-old white female, 5-foot-1-inches tall, 115 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes was last seen at 8:40 a.m. Thursday in Bridgeport. She was last seen wearing a red crossover purse, black hoodie, pajama pants and red Converse shoes. Anyone with information should call Bridgeport PD at 940-683-3430.

PLAYOFF SOCCER RESULTS — The Bridgeport Bulls (19-3-1) will move on to the third round of the 4A playoffs after claiming a 3-1 area-round win over Stephenville Thursday. David Kranz finished with two goals, while Daniel Aguilar added a solo score. Bridgeport will face the winner of Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis and Gatesville in the next round.

BASEBALL RESULTS — Decatur (15-6, 4-0) collected 10 hits Thursday, as the Eagles claimed a sweep in the District 8-4A Battle of Big Sandy rivalry with a 5-2 Game 2 win against Bridgeport (2-7, 0-4). Boyd (18-2-1) improved to 6-0 in 10-3A with a 24-0 rout of S&S in Game 2 of the teams’ league series. Paradise (13-8, 4-2) took revenge in Game 2 of its series against Ponder with an 8-1 win.

SOFTBALL RESULTS — Decatur (6-14-1) improved to 3-1 in District 8-4A with a 7-2 win over Bridgeport (4-11, 2-2) Thursday. Paradise (13-7, 4-2) earned a 15-0 10-3A shutout win over Pilot Point.

PLAYOFF SOCCER — The Decatur Eagles (14-6) will face Salado in the second round of the 4A playoffs 5 p.m. today at Midlothian Heritage High School. In the nightcap, the Decatur Lady Eagles (17-3-1) will take on Salado at 7 p.m.

BASEBALL — Alvord (8-5, 4-1) will travel to face Chico (4-8, 0-5) in the second District 10-2A Battle of 1655 contest today at 4 p.m.

SOFTBALL — Boyd (19-6, 5-2) will travel to Whitesboro for a District 10-3A clash today at noon. Alvord (8-7, 1-5) hosts Muenster in a 10-2A affair at 5 p.m.

INGRAM, TWU BATTLE FOR FIRST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE — Former Bridgeport star Ashley Ingram and the Texas Woman’s University basketball program will face Minnesota State-Mankato in the NCAA Division II Women’s National Championship game 7 (local time) tonight at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Missouri. The game can be viewed on CBS Sports Network.

COUNTY HOLIDAY CLOSINGS — All Wise County administrative offices will be closed today for the Easter holiday. Wise County Public Works will be closed today, but dumpsites will be open today and closed Saturday.

SHELTER OPEN ON SATURDAYS — The Wise County Animal Shelter is now open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Saturday for adoptions and meet-and-greets. Volunteer dog walkers are also needed. The shelter is located at 119 Private Road 4195 in Decatur, near the county dump. Call 940-627-7577.

EASTER EGG HUNT — The Bay Church in Runaway Bay will hold an egg hunt 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. In addition to an Easter egg hunt, it will also include prizes, bounce houses, food and drink.

SUNRISE SERVICE — A community Easter Sunrise Service will be held 7 a.m. Sunday at the Methodist Camp overlooking Lake Bridgeport. It will include singing, a message, communion and refreshments. Sponsored by the Decatur and Jacksboro First United Methodist Churches.

FUNERALS — Memorial visitation for Scotty Lee Reed, 42, of Decatur is 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

SERVICE for Brian Irwin, 63, of Alvord will be held at a later date. Hawkins-Decatur is handling arrangements.

SERVICE for Ethel Robinson, 77, of Bridgeport is pending at Hawkins-Decatur.

GRAVESIDE service for Inez “Nana” Lee, 100, of Paradise is 2 p.m. Thursday for family and friends at Paradise Cemetery. Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for Ronnie Hughes, 57, of Decatur is 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Hudson & Torres is handling arrangements.
