District seeks feedback as superintendent search ramps up

NORTHWEST

Northwest ISD is seeking input to help select its next superintendent.

In addition to the ongoing online survey, search firm Leasor Crass is holding two meetings to gather community engagement on Northwest ISD’S next superintendent hire. The first was in person Thursday (Jan. 6). The second is taking place virtually today (Jan. 7).

The virtual meeting begins 9 a.m. via Zoom. Visit nisdtx.org for information on how to participate.

Community members are invited to provide feedback on the preferred qualities and experience they want to see in Northwest ISD’s next superintendent. This input will be used to create a candidate profile for trustees as they select and interview superintendent candidates.

A lone finalist is expected to be named in March, with a state-mandated 21-day waiting period to follow before trustees can officially vote to hire him or her.

Current superintendent

Ryder Warren will be retiring at the end of this school year, effective July 1, 2022.

Leasor Crass is based in Fort Worth and has conducted superintendent searches for more than 20 school districts, including Weatherford ISD, Paradise ISD and Boyd ISD.

Upon the creation of a candidate profile, the search firm will establish a timeline for the search process. After the timeline is set, the firm will begin accepting applications.
