ARTIFACTS FROM MUSEUM FIRE TO BE DISPLAYED — The Wise County Historical Society will present a free exhibit “Out of the Fire” at the Decatur Visitor Center (106 S. Trinity St.) Friday, Saturday and Sunday featuring artifacts recently recovered at the Wise County Heritage Museum site following last year’s fire. Hours for the exhibit are 6-8 p.m. Friday (includes refreshments), 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Entry for the exhibit will be at the Decatur Visitor Center’s back door. SOFTBALL RESULTS — Scoring eight runs in the top of the seventh inning, Bridgeport (9-12, 6-3) earned a 9-6 win in the District 8-4A Battle of Big Sandy rivalry finale against Decatur — the Sissies’ first win over the Lady Eagles since 2016. Iva Marquesen and Aaliyah DeHoyos combined for six of Bridgeport’s 12 hits. The SIssies’ Paytin Orr earned the win, allowing six runs on eight hits in a complete game effort, with five strikeouts and two walks. For Decatur, Alexa Beeson and Abby Mosley recorded two hits each. Beeson surrendered nine runs on 11 hits in the loss, with five strikeouts and two walks. In 10-3A, Boyd’s Abby Atkinson recorded her 11th no-hitter of the season with 11 strikeouts and eight walks, as the Lady Jackets (24-7, 10-3) shut out Paradise (16-13-1, 8-5), 8-0. Mekenzie Wilson led Boyd’s lineup, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. For Paradise, McKenna Snyder and Gabriella Handley combined to allow eight runs on 13 hits with two strikeouts and five walks. Alvord (11-9, 3-9) fell to Tioga in a 10-2A showdown, 17-3. The Lady Bulldogs’ Hailee Janzen, Bella McDermott, Makayla Gresham, Macie Thweatt, Ashlynn Sadate and Rylee Ruddick recorded one single each. In the circle, Gresham allowed 17 runs on 21 hits, with four strikeouts and four walks. Chico (11-11, 5-7) Despite holding a 6-5 lead late, Chico (11-11, 5-7) suffered a 13-6 9-2A loss to Archer City. Kenzie Parrott finished with two singles and 3 RBIs, while Taylor Martin drove in two runs on two hits. Addy Sides was tagged with the defeat, giving up 13 runs on nine hits, with eight strikeouts and five walks.

BASEBALL RESULTS — Decatur (18-8) moved to 7-2 in District 8-4A with a 9-0 shutout win over Lake Worth Tuesday. Layne West went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs. Jaden Hensley and Zach Blum combined to allow one hit and 13 strikeouts. Bridgeport (5-9, 3-6) suffered a 6-2 league loss to Springtown. The Bulls were limited to three singles hit by Cyler Green, Blaine Gardner and Augustus Arnold. Ephram Dunavant gave up six runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and two walks. In 10-3A, Boyd (24-2-1, 11-0) earned its 11th district win with an 8-3 victory over Callisburg. Jax Heid hit a double in two tries, and finished with two RBIs and a walk. The Yellowjackets’ pitching trio of Bradan McIntire, Colton Patton and Evan Salina’s combined to give up three runs on two hits, recording 10 strikeouts and three walks. Paradise (17-9, 8-3) swung for 12 hits to claim a 14-0 shutout win over Pilot Point. Cooper Woodard went 1-for-3 with three RBIs, while Andrew Valencia, Briar Whitaker and Hayden Crites finished with two hits each. Austin Cole struck out eight in the win, allowing three hits in five innings. Alvord (14-5) improved to 10-1 in 10-2A with a 10-0 shutout win against Lindsay. Jeremy Watson swung the hot bat for the Bulldogs, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Cayson Stainton and Blake Davis also drove in two runs each. Asher Barnes picked up the win, allowing two hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Chico (6-12, 2-9) earned its second 10-2A win, shutting out Bellevue, 12-0. Caleb McHenry was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Austin Cox and Zach Schlekewy combined to allow two hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

BINGO NIGHT FUNDRAISER — Decatur High School PTO will host a bingo night at the DHS cafeteria 6-8 p.m. Friday. Event includes prizes and a concession stand. All proceeds benefit the DHS PTO Scholarship Fund.

BRIDGEPORT GARAGE SALE WEEKEND — This weekend is the City Wide Garage Sale in Bridgeport. The event includes 26 locations on Friday and/or Saturday. GIRLS REGIONAL GOLF — Decatur’s Tori Gardner, Lia Jones, Arabella Jones and Brynlee Ripple, along with Bridgeport’s Dylann Hiler, will begin competing in the 4A Region I championships today at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock. Paradise’s Zoey Martinez and Boyd’s Marley Long will tee-off at the 3A Region II championships at Oak Hurst Golf Club in Bullard. Chico’s Maci Byers, Shaylee Crawford, Kyla Buman, Paris Laney and Korah Weatherford, along with Alvord’s Ella WIlcox and Cheyenne Lawrence, are set to participate in the 2A Region II championships at The Old Brickyard Golf Course in Ferris.

SCHOOL PLANNING MEETING — Decatur ISD’s Long Range Planning Committee will hold its first meeting at 6 tonight at the DISD Administration Building, 307 S. Cates St.

FUNERALS — Mass of Christian burial for Gloria Camacho-Mata, 53, of Decatur is 10:30 a.m. today at Assumption Catholic Church with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur is handling arrangements.

MEMORIAL service for Shirley Louise Morgan Fortenberry, 88, is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Slidell Baptist Church. Family visitation is 9:30 a.m. at the church. Hawkins-Decatur is handling arrangements.
