Ruth Virginia Bennett, age 90, of Paradise passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024. She was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Roswell, Georgia to James Jefferson “Babe” Berry and Lois Olivia (Daniel) Berry.

Ruth went to work at an early age for Lovable Brassier Co. Where she would meet and work with her future sister-in-law. Soon after moving to Texas she worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. until she retired.

Ruth was a longtime member of New York Ave. Baptist Church in Arlington. 

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, J.J. Berry and Lois O. Berry; three brothers; Paul E. Berry, Henry Cecil Berry, Ralph Clinton Berry; sister, Mary L. Terrell all of Georgia; husband, Jewell Minor “Pickle” Bennett Jr. of Forsyth County, Georgia. 

Ruth and Jewell moved to Texas when Jewell was transferred to the General Motors plant in Arlington in the 1950s. Later, after she was widowed and retired, she moved to Paradise to be close to her lifelong and dearest friend, Mary Jo Henson. 

She is survived by her two children; son, Thomas Mitchell Bennett of Paradise and daughter, Sharon Ruth Patterson-Williams of Rhome; grandson and granddaughter in-law, Frank M Patterson III and Julie of Odessa; sister in-law, Nelda J Hunter (Ralph) Berry of Alpharetta, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. 

Ruth was a loving and devoted mother and wife who will be greatly missed.
