MOTHER/SON DANCE — Bridgeport Parks and Recreation will present its annual Mother/Son Dance “Totally Awesome 80s” Jan. 31 at Bridgeport Community Center. Two dances will be held, 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $12 per person at bridgeport.recdesk.com. Space is limited. CHAMBER AWARDS GALA — Wise County Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Wonderland Gala is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Decatur Conference Center.

BINGO BASH — Paradise Buyers Association’s annual Bingo Bash fundraiser is 6 p.m. Saturday at the Paradise High School Cafeteria.

MOBILE FOOD PANTRY — The Decatur Cares Mobile Pantry is Jan. 10, rather than the normal first Saturday this month, at FUMC Decatur.

CHRISTMAS ON THE SQUARE — Chico’s Christmas event on Saturday includes a Parade of Lights at 6 followed by a “Grinchmas Party” at 6:30 p.m. at the library.

SANTA ON THE STREETS — The Decatur Fire Department provides the escort for Santa as he visits all the neighborhoods in town Dec. 14 through 18.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA — The John B. Denton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its annual event where wreaths are placed at the graves of  veterans with a ceremony at 11 a.m. Dec. 13 at the Wise County Veterans Memorial Park in Decatur. Visit wreathsacrossamerica.org.

TOY RUN — The Wise County Toy Run is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. Registration is 9 a.m. to noon at Old Settlers Reunion Grounds in Decatur.

TURKEY TROT — The 8th Annual Wise County Turkey Trot is Thanksgiving morning in downtown Decatur with the 1-mile run at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30.

KEONA’S THANKS-GIVNG DAY EVENT — Wise Choice Custom Meats in Decatur will hold its Sixth Annual Keona’s Thanks-Giving Day event on Thanksgiving. Free, hot meals will be served to all who need one 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday.
