ONLY IN WISE...TUESDAY, FEB. 24: SHERIFF’S OFFICE — Dispatch was contacted by a woman on behalf of an incarcerated man reporting theft by check. Investigation showed the man was supposed to be getting a refund check for $3,200. His ex-girlfriend reached out to the attorney and convinced him to write and send the check to her on the man’s behalf. Check was then written and mailed to the ex-girlfriend who cashed the check shortly after.
