A woman charged with the murder of her husband at their Lake Bridgeport home last month has been indicted by a Wise County grand jury.

SANDY MICHEAL WILLIAMS
Sandy Micheal Williams, 45, was indicted on the first degree felony charge of murder Friday.
The indictment alleges Williams shot and killed 46-year-old Michael C. Thomas Feb. 1 at their home in the 1200 block of Trinity Circle off Farm Road 1658 in Lake Bridgeport.
Deputies responded to the home just after 10 p.m. Feb. 1 and found Thomas deceased with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, Williams told investigators she and Thomas had a physical altercation moments before the deadly shooting.
“[Williams] stated during the argument, she stuck a finger in the victim’s face, at which point he pulled her to the floor by her pony tail,” the affidavit states. “[Williams] stated she felt like the male was pushing her head on the ground.”
Williams told investigators she had warned Thomas that “if he ever laid a hand on her, it would be the last time,” according to the affidavit.
Williams said she then retrieved a black semi-automatic 9 mm handgun. After loading a magazine in the handgun and chambering a round, she walked up the stairs to confront her husband.
Thomas was sitting at the bar, she said, when she opened fire.
“[Williams] stated she ‘aimed center mass’ while the victim was looking at her,” the affidavit states.
Williams remained in the Wise County Jail Tuesday with bond set at $50,000, according to jail records. Court records show she is being represented by defense attorney Bill Ray.
