The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway near Ramhorn Hill Road.
“A preliminary investigation indicates a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound when the driver struck a 2008 Toyota Camry and a 2009 Honda Accord parked on the shoulder. The driver also hit a pedestrian who was standing near the Camry,” DPS Spokesperson Tony De La Cerda said. “The driver of the Cherokee drove across the median, onto the southbound lanes, and struck a 2011 GMC Yukon. The driver tried to flee on foot and was apprehended by witnesses until law enforcement arrived.”

He was arrested and booked into the Wise County Jail for Intoxication Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid Involving Death, both second degree felonies.
The woman who was struck was identified as Destiny Quintanilla, 19, of Grand Prairie. De La Cerda said she was transported to Medical City Decatur, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the GMC Yukon was identified as Jesse Gauna, a 42-year-old male from Bowie, who was not injured. The driver of the Toyota Camry was identified as Mykah Dallas, a 20-year-old male from Grand Prairie. He was transported to Medical City Decatur, where he was treated for injuries and released.
