BRIDGEPORT APPROVES ZONING CHANGE FOR TOWNHOMES — The Bridgeport City Council approved a zoning change to bring 91 townhome units to the city Monday. Following a public hearing, the council voted 4-1 to OK the change of 8.7 acres from One-Family District (R-1) to Planned Development District Eight (PD8). Council member Place 2 Brett Wade voted against the zoning change. The townhomes are part of a 41-acre development, now known as The Reserve at Bridgeport, along the west side of 16th Street. In addition to the 91 townhome units, the development would bring in approximately 150 single-family residential lots. The townhomes are described as upscale units, and each unit would be approximately 1,600 square feet. Construction on the first phase of the development is expected to begin in Spring 2023, according to LZ Development Bridgeport, LLC, Owner Jason Lanzara.
