STORM CHANCES CONTINUE — Parts of Wise County saw more than a half-inch of rain Wednesday, and we could see more today. The forecast includes a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon, according to the National Weather Service. Severe weather is not expected today, but lightning and gusty winds will be possible with stronger storms. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with an unseasonably warm high of 77 degrees. Rainfall totals from yesterday and overnight included 0.64 of an inch (with hail up to quarter-size) in Alvord, 0.22 in Bridgeport and 0.1 in Decatur. Wise County EMS Medic-8 is set to assist Emergency Medical Task Force 2 after Texas mobilized resources yesterday ahead of anticipated severe weather this week. Medic-8 is currently staged in Hood County awaiting deployment wherever needed. “We maintain 100 percent staffing in the county and will have extra staffing as the weather passes by,” Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger said. “…The state is watching the weather and will be moving them. At this point, the destination is not known.”
SOCCER RESULTS — The Bridgeport Bulls (15-3, 6-1) earned their sixth District 4-4A victory with a 2-1 win over Burkburnett Wednesday. In the girls game, the Sissies (3-13, 0-6) suffered a 7-0 loss to the Lady Bulldogs.

Agricultural product identification is at 4 p.m. and the 4-H parade of fashion is 6:30 p.m.
WE ARE DECATUR DAY — The Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 leadership class is seeking eligible projects and volunteers for its annual community beautification event, We Are Decatur Day.
