WOMAN, HUSBAND ARRESTED FOR STEALING $400K — A woman has been arrested for stealing more than $400,000 from a local business where she was formerly employed. Stacy Mae Stone of Haslet was arrested July 1 on nine charges of theft of property, including one first degree felony charge of theft greater than $300,000. Her husband, James Miles Stone II, was arrested June 27 on three charges of theft of property, including one charge of theft greater than $300,000. Investigators say the couple used the stolen money for a number of personal uses, including a down payment on a vehicle and a stay at a Las Vegas hotel. CAR DRIVES INTO MEDICAL FACILITY, NO INJURIES REPORTED — No injuries were reported after a vehicle struck the glass entryway of a medical facility in Decatur Wednesday afternoon. The wreck occurred at about 2:20 p.m. at Integrity Urgent Care, located in the 1400 block of South Farm Road 51. Decatur Police Department patrol officer Jason Cobb said the driver of a 2024 black Hummer mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal while attempting to park the vehicle in front of the establishment. The business was closed after the wreck, according to Cobb. Decatur Fire Department also responded to the scene. DFD Division Chief Jeff Smith said the building did not seem to suffer structural damage.

Items needed include canned/non perishable food, dog and cat food/beds/blankets, gloves, batteries/flashlights, clothing, blankets, diapers/wipes/formula, toiletries and liquid IVs. MOBILE FOOD PANTRY — The Decatur Cares Mobile Pantry is Saturday. Food will be distributed 7:30-9 a.m. Cars can lineup in the First United Methodist Church east parking area before 7 a.m. There will be produce and protein items for 225 families. ROAD WORK IN PARADISE — The Texas Department of Transportation will be applying chip seal to Main Street in Paradise through the remainder of the week. The road is expected to remain open through the majority of the process, but there may be intermittent closures.
CLEAN UP EVENT — New Fairview will host a free “Chunk Your Junk” event 8 a.m. to noon (or until containers are full) Saturday at city hall. You must bring proof of residency. Tires, any appliances with freon and liquids such as oil and paints are not accepted.
WISE REPUBLICAN WOMEN MEETING — Wise Republican Women will meet 6 p.m. Monday in the Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Courtroom in the Wise County Law Enforcement Center in Decatur. Representative Andy Hopper will give a legislative update.
