BPD TO CONDUCT COMMERCIAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS — Bridgeport Police Department can now conduct commercial motor vehicle inspections after earning certification through the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Bridgeport officers will conduct inspections of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) traveling through the city through a memorandum of understanding with DPS. Bridgeport PD started a field training period for these inspections this week, and will officially go live after logging 30 additional inspections with a certified officer, Stanford explained.
