DECATUR COUNCIL DIALS BACK ROADWAY IMPACT FEES — The Decatur City Council approved a significant reduction to roadway impact fees last week, following recommendations from the Decatur Capital Improvement Advisory Committee. The committee began reviewing Decatur’s 2024 impact fee schedule last month after hearing concerns that the new roadway fees were making building in city limits unaffordable. With the updated ordinance, water and wastewater impact fees will remain unchanged on single-family residential homes, while the roadway fee will drop to $5,470. Previously, the impact fees for a single-family detached home were $4,780 for water, $9,078 for wastewater and $13,677 for roadways. Read more online here.
