HEAT ADVISORY — After a run of below-average temperatures, Wise County will be under a heat advisory today as scorching temperatures return this week. The heat advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. today. Temperatures close to 100 degrees with heat index values up to 106 are expected. Triple-digit high temperatures are expected throughout the week.
RV FIRE — An RV fire was reported in the 700 block of County Road 4659 near Rhome around noon Friday. Initial reports indicated there were no occupants inside. The fire was quickly reported to be under control.
SUMMER READING WRAP-UP CELEBRATION — The Decatur Public Library will celebrate the end of its Summer Reading Challenge at a wrap-up event 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at the library.
