DISTRICT TO CONSIDER PORTABLES TO ADDRESS OVERCROWDING — The Boyd School Board will vote whether or not to rent or purchase portable educational buildings to address its student overcapacity issues during tonight’s meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. The proposal comes after voters rejected the district’s $63 million, single-proposition bond proposal 680-607 — an approximate 53 to 47 percent margin of defeat — in the November general election. The bond’s rejection marked the second time in six months that voters turned down the proposal, as the plan was voted down 56 to 44 percent (383-297) in May.
