EARWOOD PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDER — A Boyd man has pleaded guilty to murder in the 2023 death of his stepson. Joshua Earwood, 39, entered a guilty plea Thursday afternoon in 271st District Court in Decatur. His trial had been scheduled for next week. A sentencing hearing is set for next Wednesday in the same court. According to the indictment in the case, Earwood fatally shot his 18-year-old stepson, Caleb White, Sept. 12, 2023, at their home on Griffin Street south of Boyd.
