COURTHOUSE GRAND REVEAL SET FOR OCTOBER — After several years of renovation work, the Wise County Courthouse will be rededicated at a ceremony Oct. 23 where the public can get their first look at the restored structure. County Judge J.D. Clark announced the long-anticipated date earlier this week. “When you step back, this project has been about more than paint and plaster,” Clark said. “It’s about protecting history, honoring the craftsmanship of past generations, and preparing the courthouse to last another century. That’s why the Oct. 23 rededication date is so meaningful — it’s exactly 130 years since the cornerstone was laid in 1895.” Read more in this week’s Wise County Messenger and online here.
