Tyler Henry Greenwood, 27, passed away on Feb. 22, 2023, due to injuries sustained during an automotive accident the week prior. The family was shocked by this tragic turn of events and unexpected passing.
Tyler was born on Dec. 22, 1995.
He is survived and deeply missed by his significant other, Tanya Ortega, and his child, John Andrew Greenwood. He is survived by his mother, Thresa Wilson and husband, Brent Wilson; his brother, Justin and wife, Erika Greenwood. His memory lives on with his family and friends.
Tyler was preceded in passing by his father, Bobby John Greenwood Jr.
He was born in Decatur and raised in Chico. Tyler lived and worked in many states, from Pennsylvania to Georgia, in his adulthood, later settling back in his hometown prior to his passing. Tyler met his significant other, Tanya, in Chico. They created many memories living in his childhood home. Tyler worked as an air conditioning technician and yard mechanic prior to his passing.
Tyler was never scared to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well-liked for his honest and true nature. Though he is deeply missed, the impact that Tyler had on the lives of those around him will last for decades to come.
The family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and love from his many friends and the community. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, Firefighters, and to the staff at Medical City of Denton for doing everything they could.
Memorial service was Feb. 22 at Wise County Cowboy Church in Decatur.
