Teen flown from wreck near WCWC campusFree Access


A teenage girl was flown to a Fort Worth hospital after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 380 near the Weatherford College Wise County campus between Bridgeport and Decatur Tuesday morning.

Around 7 a.m. Dec. 2, a teen driving a Chevrolet Tahoe pulled out from Farm Road 1655 and was T-boned by a Chevrolet 3500 pickup traveling westbound on U.S. 380, according to Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger.

U.S. 380 was shut down as Bridgeport Fire Department, Wise County EMS and other crews extricated the juvenile from her vehicle. She was flown by Air Evac Lifeteam 68 to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

The two occupants of the pickup, identified as adult men, were taken to Medical City Decatur by Wise County EMS Medic 2 with minor injuries.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Bridgeport Police Department and the Wise County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
