Robert Broner “Bud” Logan

1933-2025

Logan

Robert Broner “Bud” Logan, 92, of Justin, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1933, in Fort Worth, to Harry Logan Sr. and Marie Logan. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and release him into the arms of his Heavenly Father.

Bud was the model of a hardworking cowboy. While serving and supporting his family, he lived his entire life on the same piece of land, finding abundant purpose and joy. Ranching wasn’t just work to Bud; it was a way of life. There were no vacations, no idle days—only the land, the cattle, and the quiet satisfaction of responsibility. Some of his most meaningful hours were spent out on that land, working side by side with his brother Harry. Their brotherly bond was built on trust, shared purpose, and a deep understanding forged over years of working together.

In addition to his ranch work, Bud served his country with his time in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He later worked as a railroad switchman alongside his brother Harry for over 30 years. When his wife, Mickey, decided to start her own business, Just-n-Mart, Bud served as a co-owner of her store to help her achieve her dream.

In his later years, Bud continued to focus on the things that meant the most to him; the first being his beloved wife. High school sweethearts, Bud and Mickey shared 64 years of marriage. Through the ups and downs, they were steadfast in love and loyalty to one another, remaining best friends through it all. When she fell ill, he cared for her devotedly until her passing.

The Logan legacy carries on thanks to the dedication of Bud, Harry, and Joann. They continued their parents’ convictions of hard work and service to those around them. They loved well and shared whatever they had with those who needed help. Bud’s love and legacy live on in the hearts of his family and in the soil of the land he cherished. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey Moncrief Logan; daughter, Bellienda Marie Logan; his parents, Harry and Marie Logan; his brother, Harry Logan Jr.; and his sister, Joann Young. He is survived by his daughter, Kellye and her husband, Richard Southall, and their children, Kira, Mika, and Spencer; his son, Marty Logan and his wife, Michelle, and their children, R.J., Michael, and Tucker; and his great-granddaughter, McKenna. We would like to extend a special thank you to caregiver, Mary Matlock, for her devotion to both of our parents. They truly loved you.
