The unofficial final voting results from Tuesday’s primary has been released from the Wise County Election’s Office. In the closest race of the night, Andrew Lloyd narrowly defeated Paul Belew for 271st District Judge in the Republican Primary. Lloyd received just over 50 percent of the vote.

The Wise County vote total was 5,384 (50.42 percent) for Lloyd and 5,295 (49.58 percent) for Belew. In Jack County, Lloyd prevailed 702 (53.59 percent) to 608 (46.41 percent).

Kim Redman will also remain Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace after defeating Cindy Buckner Barksdale 56 to 44 percent in the Republican Primary.

It appears Bill Hogg has won the four-person race for Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace in the Republican Primary, avoiding a runoff, as he won 58 percent of the vote. Jason Van Dyke received 27 percent, Francisca Ortiz 9 percent and Ed Villa 7 percent.

In the Republican State House District 64 race, Andy Hopper received 75 percent of the Wise County vote to Lisa McEntire’s 25 percent. Hopper also held a large lead in Denton County, although final results from our neighbors to the east had not yet been posted late Tuesday night. On the Democratic side, Julie Evans won Wise County with 54 percent of the vote to Christie Wood’s 46 percent, and she led in Denton County as well.
