Man critically injured after fall while hanging Christmas lights

A man was critically injured after falling while hanging Christmas lights on a Decatur area business Monday afternoon.

The patient, identified as an adult in his teens, was installing lights on the roof of a National Roper’s Supply (NRS) building before falling and landing on concrete.

Wise County EMS and Decatur Fire Department responded to the accident in the 4000 block of U.S. 81/287, just outside of Decatur city limits around 4 p.m.

The patient was flown to Medical City Denton by PHI Air Medical Air Med 10. He was in critical condition, said Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger.
