LaTonne Sewalt Enright was born Jan. 23, 1939, in Brownwood, to Royce and Myra Dixon Sewalt. She died Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her home in Decatur.

LaTonne graduated from Afton High School in Oklahoma, and attended numerous universities before graduating with a bachelor’s and master’s of education from Texas Women’s University. Her entire 34 years of teaching business courses was at Paschal High School in Ft. Worth ISD.

LaTonne grew up in the rodeo world. Her father, Royce Sewalt, was the World Champion calf roper in 1946, her brother Ronney was an outstanding professional calf roper as well. LaTonne was two-time World Champion barrel racer in 1950 and 1954. Her mother, Myra, was the “Ring Leader” for the family as they traveled all over the U.S. competing in rodeos during the 1940’s and 1950’s.

Nothing was more important to her than her family. She took great pride in her two daughters, Kellye and Rene’; her “perfect” grandchildren, and her 15 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Kellye Hickman and husband, Jacky; Rene’ Fuller and husband, Kirk; five grandchildren, Royce Hickman and wife, Amy; Bryce Hickman and wife, Kara; Kyla Jacquez and husband, Jay; Chance Fuller and wife, KeriAnn; Kole Fuller and wife, Sara; nephews, Rusty Sewalt and wife, Clay; Ryan Sewalt and wife, Susie; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Enright; parents, Royce and Myra Sewalt; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronney and Joy Sewalt; and her son-in-law, Phil Hickman.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Cowboy Museum, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a charity of your choice.
