After waiting more than three months since winning their first state title, the 2025 Boyd Lady Jackets’ volleyball team receive its bling.

The Lady Jackets received their state championship rings and unveiled their state title monument during a ceremony Wednesday at Boyd High School Gym.

“This is a great day to celebrate our accomplishment, as well as all of the hard work we put in last season,” Boyd coach Clark Oberle said. “I’m glad the community and the police department came out and supported the program. Both the rings and the monument will definitely bring back memories for a great season together every time we look at them.”

Boyd proved to be a force to be reckoned with, bouncing back to earn the program’s third overall trip to the state final (2018, 2024, 2025) following the team’s silver finish in 2024 with a 3-1 loss to Stockdale.

The Lady Jackets finished 36-9, and went unbeaten in District 10-3A play (12-0) to claim its first outright league championship in Oberle’s tenure.

In the postseason, Boyd earned sweeps against Cedar Hill Trinity Leadership (3-0), Leonard (3-0) and  Edgewood (3-0), and outlasted district rival Paradise (3-2) in the 3AI Region II final.

The Lady Jackets then went on to sweep Wall (3-0) in the state semifinals, and claimed a sweep against Clifton — 25-23, 25-21, 25-10 — in the 3AII state final Nov. 21 inside Garland’s Curtis Culwell Center.

Senior outside hitter Addy Delgado took home the 3AII state tournament MVP honors, recording 15 kills, 10 digs, one ace and one assist in the win over Clifton.

“We did really good at designing the rings,” Delgado said. “It was just like a flood of emotions hit me when I opened the box. I remember being on the state floor and getting our medals and our trophy. This is a great way to close out my senior year with this team.”

Delgado was also the 10-3A and All-Wise MVP, and was named the 2025 Texas Girls Coaches Association’s 1A-4A Volleyball Player of the Year and Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s 3A Co-Player of the Year with Goliad junior middle blocker Addison Yendrey — the MVP of the 3AI state tournament.

Boyd earned three additional bids on the 3A all-state tournament team — senior libero Bryleigh Wallace (28 digs, 4 assists, 3 aces, 1 kill), senior middle blocker Annabelle Nichter (7 kills, 4 block assists, 2 digs) and junior setter Cami McIntire (29 assists, 5 kills, 4 digs, 3 block assists).

Oberle — who announced his retirement plans before the start of the season — closed the books on his 32-year career by leading his third program to the gold medal (Argyle, 2015; Decatur, 2018; Boyd, 2025). He finished with 798 total wins, and shared the Blue Bell/TSWA 3A Coach of the Year award with Goliad coach Jess Odem, who led the Tigerettes to the 3AI title over Bushland (3-0).

In four campaigns, Oberle held a 138-33 record with the Lady Jackets, leading Boyd to one outright district title and four consecutive playoff appearances.
