
Mann
L. W. Mann, 93, passed away and went into heaven on April 15, 2026.
A native Texan, he was born on July 20, 1932, in Wise County’s Deep Creek community to Mary and Frank Mann, both from local pioneer families. He married Patsy (Pat) Underwood in Weatherford, on May 7, 1950. Their marriage lasted until her passing on Aug. 4, 2008.
He was a member of the Alvord Baptist Church.
L. W. was a lifelong farmer, dairy farmer and rancher who cared deeply for animals. He ran two boot-and-shoe repair businesses in Wise County and, with Pat, enjoyed collecting Colorado aspen wood to craft handsome furniture.
A humble man, L. W. lived his life with integrity. Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Rusty and wife, Monica; and Tim and wife, Vicki; his four grandsons, Shawn and wife, Jodi; Scott and wife, Anne; Jesi and wife, Summer; and Cory; his six great-grandchildren, Brady, Karly, Max, Leo, Willow and Hazle.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Deep Creek Cemetery. A visitation was held at 12 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
