Decatur’s Keaton Goode’s throws made him one of the top competitors at the Springtown Pojo Relays last week, earning a pair of medals.
Goode — a 2024 4A state qualifier — threw 52-06 to win gold in shot put March 26 at Porcupine Stadium. He also garnered silver in discus with a personal record throw of 161-7 — more than 2.5 feet shorter than Mineral Wells’ Javawn McKinney (164-3).
Behind Goode’s finishes, the Eagles placed third in the team rankings with 80 points. Brock was crowned the meet champion by scoring 126, while Sanger amassed 114.5 for second.
Wyatt Dunn also turned in a gold medal performance, clocking 10.70 to win the 100.

Matthew Cannon and Kasey Boney also grabbed silver medals in field events. Finishing seventh in 4A last season, Cannon cleared 14-06 in pole vault, tying Brock’s Kai Smith in height but falling to second based on misses. Boner leaped 21.07.75 in long jump — a quarter-inch behind meet champion Jett Kerr of Brock (21-08).
Luke Koehler picked up the Eagles final individual silver finish in the 300 hurdles in 40.41 — eight hundredths of a second behind Graham’s Andon Masterfield (40.33).
Decatur’s 4×200 team of Josh Oyler, Rhys Ragan, Fisher Sisk and Gabriel Cobos was the Eagles’ lone relay squad to medal at the meet, running 1:30.59 to garner silver behind Wichita Falls Legacy (1:30.18).
The Eagles’ final medal was awarded to Chase Berg, who took bronze in long jump with a 21-07.50 leap.
Decatur scored four points in the 4×400, as Caden Cobb, Benjamin Bond, Oyler and Ragan ran fifth in 3.33.99. 00. Tate Clackler (10:32.85) and Cobb (52.47) tacked on 1 point each after placing sixth in the 3,200 and 400, respectively.
The Bridgeport Bulls also competed at the Springtown meet, but did not score a point in the team standings. Bridgeport’s top performance came in the 4×100, as Dane Handley, Joshua Spotts, Trace Marlett and Mason Bentley ran 44.79 for ninth.

In the girls division, Decatur scored 40 points to place seventh behind Krum (113), Springtown (111), Brock (99), Sanger (51), Eagle Mountain (50) and Graham (42).
London Gilbreath earned the Lady Eagles’ only gold medal, winning the 200 in 25.66. She also clocked 59.87 to finish fourth in the 400.
Jadyn Kelley claimed a pair of top 6 performances. She secured bronze in the 300 hurdles in 49.20, and placed fourth in the 100 in 12.51.
Maddyx Coffman finished fourth in the 1,600 (5:38.70), and was fifth in the 800 (2:28.16). Tatum Huff’s throw of 111-06 allowed her to grab fourth in discus.
Decatur’s Ava Green (4-10) tied for fifth in high jump with Springtown’s Madison Mussulman and Peaster’s Selah Salmons, while Jayden Oates (17-00) scored 2 points with a fifth-place finish in long jump.
Jaylene Arredondo leaped 34-08.25 for sixth in triple jump. Reagan Nicks turned in times of 5:44.90 and 12:20.33 to run sixth in the 1,600 and 3,200, respectively.
The Sissies did not score points in the team standings. Bridgeport’s top finishes were a pair of eighth-place field event performances by Claire Moody 4-10) and Emma Perez (16-04.50) in high jump and long jump, respectively.
Decatur will host the Decatur Relays Thursday at Decatur High School. Bridgeport heads to the Krum Bobcat Invitational Thursday at Krum High School.
