Returning home to open up their TAPPS 6-Man Division II District 2 schedule, the Victory Christian Academy Patriots could not keep pace with 2024 state runner-up Prestonwood Christian Academy — North.

The Patriots (3-3, 0-1) were limited to 88 total yards in a 46-0 shutout home loss to the Lions Thursday. The game was called with 6:49 left in the third quarter due to 6-man football scoring rules.

PCA North kept its record unblemished, improving to 5-0 (0-1).

Lion running back Rocco Leydig sparked the Lions early by carrying in a 6-yard touchdown run and grabbing a 48-yard scoring pass from quarterback Peyton McDonald.

McDonald also connected with wide receiver Max Barth on a 42-yard touchdown reception, while running back Julian Lewis reached the end zone from 4 yards out to give PCA North a 30-point lead after the opening quarter.

The Lions took a 38-0 lead into the locker room following Barth’s 30-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Hudson McGuire with under a minute left in the first half. McGuire competed three of his four passing attempts for 107 yards.

PCA North ended the game just 3:11 into the third quarter following Leydig’s third touchdown of the game — a 15-yard run. He led the Lions’ run game with 29 yards on four carries, and was the team’s top receiver with his touchdown catch.

For VCA, quarterback Jaylen Donald threw for 48 yards on 10-of-17 passing, with three interceptions. Donald racked up 27 rushing yards on five carries, while freshman wide receiver Luke Lowery finished with eight carries for 34 yards.

The Patriots look to snap a 2-game losing streak when they face Ovilla Christian in Week 8 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 in Red Oak.
