Cheri Lynn Hudgens

1958-2023

Hudgens

Cheri Lynn Hudgens, 65, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2023, due to complications with pulmonary fibrosis.

Cheri was born on Feb. 21, 1958, to William Carol Hudgens and Johnnie Elizabeth Manning in Fort Worth.

Cheri was feisty but she had the biggest heart. She was strong-willed and stubborn, but would go out of her way to help people. These traits defined Cheri and were part of who she was. Her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges. She will be greatly missed by her family, who holds steadfast in the fact she is now with her maker — pain free and experiencing a love beyond comprehension.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Glenn Bishop; sister, Kimberly Benefield; and great-grandson, Grady Chavana.

Cheri is survived by her daughter, Wendy Chavana and husband, Eddie, of Decatur;  sons, Billy Blackwell III and wife, Ami, of Washington and Tieler Blackwell and wife, Rachel, of Granbury; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Evan Johnson; and sister, Lesa Anderson.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in late spring/early summer of 2023.
