A 46-year-old man who was struck by a SUV while crossing Farm Road 730 near Boyd Friday has died from his injuries.
On Nov 28, 2025, at 1:04 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to an auto-pedestrian crash south of Boyd on FM 730 near County Road 4765.
The DPS preliminary investigation report said that a Ford Escape was traveling southbound when the driver passed another vehicle in a designated passing zone. As the Ford Escape was passing, a pedestrian was crossing the roadway, and the Ford Escape struck the pedestrian.
The driver of the Ford Escape, 50-year-old Pearl Jack from Azle was not injured.
The pedestrian, 46-year-old Christopher Eastman from Scurry was transported to Medical City Decatur by Wise County EMS in critical condition. Eastman was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
DPS Sgt. Tony De La Cerda said the investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
