A two-vehicle collision injured two people in far southwest Wise County Saturday morning.
The wreck happened at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Texas 199 and Farm Road 920 and involved a passenger car and a pickup. First responders reported major damage to the vehicles upon their arrival and placed a helicopter ambulance on standby.
The “T-bone” type collision resulted in two people being taken to hospitals, according to Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger.
The driver of the passenger car required extrication and was then flown to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries by Air Evac Lifeteam 68, Preuninger said. The driver of the pickup was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital.
Both lanes of Texas 199 were shut down for a brief time before the wreck could be cleared.
Wise County EMS Medic 2, Squad 1 and Rescue 2 responded along with assistance from Parker County. Texas Department of Public Safety responded as well.
