The Department of State Health Services Wednesday confirmed one new COVID-19 case in Wise County. 
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 14. Four are active. The new case is in 76078, the third in the Rhome, New Fairview and Aurora ZIP code.
The other cases include five in 76431 (Chico/Crafton), two each in 76234 (Decatur/Slidell) and 76426 (Bridgeport/Runaway Bay), and one each in 76023 (Boyd/Briar) and 76073 (Paradise/Cottondale).
A total of eight cases are designated as recovered. Two deaths have been reported.

As of Wednesday night, 793 tests have been administered at various local facilities. Of those, 672 are negative, 79 are pending and 28 are inconclusive.
In Wise County, 1.15 percent of the population has been tested with 1.77 percent of those testing positive. In the state of Texas, .74 percent of the population has been tested, and 9.72 percent of those have tested positive.
