One person was killed in a two-vehicle wreck involving a motorcycle and pickup late Sunday morning in Chico.
The accident occurred on Farm Road 1810 at County Road 1750 just after 11 a.m., according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Sgt. Tony De La Cerda.
“A preliminary investigation indicated that a Ford F-350 towing a trailer was eastbound on FM 1810, and a Honda motorcycle was following. The driver of the F-350 began to make a left-hand turn onto CR 1750 when the driver of the motorcycle attempted to pass – in a No-Passing Zone – crashing into the F-350,” De La Cerda said.
The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 53-year-old Ronald Sandlin of Bridgeport. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
According to Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger, a PHI air ambulance was placed on standby, but later canceled. Chico Volunteer Fire Department, along with Wise County EMS Medic-2, Rescue-1 and Squad-1 responded the scene.
