JURY DELIVERS 60-YEAR SENTENCE FOR SEX CRIME — A Wise County man was sentenced to 60 years in prison Thursday after a jury found him guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a disabled person. Bradley Dale Higgins, 61, was taken into custody at the conclusion of the three-day trial in 271st District Court in Decatur. Prosecutors presented evidence that Higgins sexually assaulted the victim around Jan. 3, 2019, in Chico. The victim in the case testified that the sexual assaults took place not only on that day but for several years prior as well. Higgins was eligible for probation and also faced 5 to 99 years or life in prison for the first degree felony offense.
