1 KILLED IN FRIDAY WRECK — One person was killed in a two-vehicle wreck Friday near Cottondale, but their identity remains unidentified, according to law enforcement. Sgt. Tony De La Cerda, spokesperson with the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the wreck happened at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Farm Roads 51 and 2123 and involved a 2011 International Box Truck and a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle. “Preliminary investigation indicates (the box truck) was traveling eastbound on FM 2123 crossing the intersection at FM 51, and (the motorcycle) was traveling northbound on FM 51 crossing the intersection at FM 2123, when (the motorcycle) struck (the box truck). The driver of (the motorcycle) was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kim Redman,” De La Cerda said. The driver of the box truck, identified as 50-year-old Little Elm resident Demond Cortez Nettles, was not injured. The operator of the motorcycle has not yet been identified, according to De La Cerda.
