STORMS KNOCK OUT POWER — Early morning storms rolled through Wise County Thursday, knocking out power to hundreds of local customers. As of 7:30 a.m., around 850 Oncor customers remained without power, according to Area Manager Sabrina Easley. The hardest hit area was in the south part of the county where more than 700 customers remained out around Aurora, Boyd, Newark and Rhome. “We have tree trimmers working there now so lines can be picked back up and power restored,” she said. “We expect to have power restored in all areas by noon.” Rainfall totals included 2.25 inches in Alvord, 2.2 in Greenwood, 1.97 in Decatur, 1.4 in Cottondale and 1.29 in Bridgeport. It will be cooler today with a high around 77 degrees.
