WILD WEATHER IN WISE — Several rounds of severe storms swept through the county overnight bringing damaging wind and hail. The first round of storms hit around 7:45 p.m. and brought hail up to golf ball size for parts of the county. Reports of homes in the Decatur area with windows knocked out were received. High winds were also likely responsible for several downed trees, some of which blocked county roads in Alvord and Cottondale. More rounds of storms followed throughout the night. Wrecks were reported in Paradise, Alvord and New Fairview, but there were no reports of serious injuries. Rainfall totals included 3.55 inches in Alvord, 1.75 in Bridgeport and 1.52 in Decatur.
