DECATUR HIRES HUFF AS AD/FOOTBALL COACH — Decatur ISD trustees Thursday unanimously approved the hiring of College Station athletic coordinator and football coach Steve Huff to serve as the district’s new athletic director/head football coach. “This is a slam-dunk,” Decatur superintendent Chad Jones said. “Steve Huff has as good of a resume as I think any coach in the state of Texas at any level.” Huff has been with College Station since 2012, and holds a 100-26 record (79.4 winning percentage) with the Cougars. The team defeated Aledo 20-19 in the 2017 5A Division II state championship. In the 2021 season, the Cougars finished 15-1. Katy Paetow defeated College Station for the 5AI state title, 27-24.
