WINTER STORM HITS WISE — Freezing rain, sleet and snow fell in Wise County overnight, resulting in layers of ice on trees and slick roads. As of 8 a.m., Decatur was seeing snow. The precipitation is expected to end by this afternoon. Wise County remains under a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. Temperatures will stay below freezing today with a forecast high of 23. Oncor reported an outage affecting 538 customers last night in the Lake Bridgeport area, but power was restored at 5:21 a.m. Oncor was reporting no outages as of 7 a.m. U.S. 81/287 was slick in spots between Rhome and Decatur, especially around County Road 4421. Going north into Decatur roads were passable. City streets have a layer of snow. Bridgeport Police Chief Steve Stanford said main highways are slick in areas and city streets are also slick.
