COUNTY TAKES STANCE ON VACCINE MANDATE — Wise County will not require its employees to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. Wise County Judge J.D. Clark sent an email to employees Monday after the commissioners meeting, stating the county’s stance on President Joe Biden’s mandate from last week for employers with more than 100 workers to require the vaccine or weekly tests. “Wise County, as a local county governmental entity and employer, will not require or mandate employees to receive COVID-19 vaccinations,” Clark said. “We feel such a policy has Constitutional, legal, and privacy concerns and flaws, and it is not a proper role for us as a government or employer. Additionally, as a local governmental entity and political subdivision in Texas, our county government is not bound by OSHA rules and regulations.”
