Bridgeport home damaged in fire

Fire damaged a home along County Road 1326 in Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon.

FATALITY CRASH — A Rhome man died in a single-vehicle accident on Farm Road 2264 north of Farm Road 407 in New Fairview Sunday. Sean Ayers, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly before 7 p.m., Ayers was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry northbound on FM 2264, according to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Sgt. Ricky Hunter. “For an undetermined reason, the Toyota traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned,” Hunter said. “Ayers was ejected from the vehicle.” The East Wise Fire Department and Wise County EMS responded to the accident. A medical helicopter was requested and soon canceled.
