PURSUIT ENDS IN CEMETERY — A Decatur man was arrested after leading a pursuit that ended Sunday afternoon in Oaklawn Cemetery. Brian Range, 41, is in Wise County Jail facing the following charges, two counts of assault on a public servant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief greater than or equal to $300,000, interfering with public duties, resisting arrest, and evading arrest. The pursuit began after Range rammed his vehicle into other vehicles and a residence on North Cates Street in Decatur, according to Decatur Police Chief Delvon Campbell. “There were people in the residence at the time,” Campbell said. Officers followed Range to Oaklawn Cemetery, where his vehicle broke down and a foot pursuit ensued. “There was a pursuit in the cemetery. In the pursuit, he kicked an officer in the face,” Campbell said. Wise County EMS and the Decatur Fire Department responded to the cemetery.
