Century Link working on phone issues

About 2,900 Century Link customers in Decatur were dealing with phone problems Tuesday as a result of a “scrambled” data card in the local Century Link office. Spokesman Larry Adamson said the problem occurred about 8:39 Tuesday morning when a card in the Decatur office malfunctioned, scrambling data going into another card. He said the problem was being worked on.

More than 5,000 affected by phone outage

As Tuesday’s workday wound down, technicians from Century Link were working with an equipment manufacturer to figure out what has gone wrong with a piece of equipment in the local office. Breaking News: Decatur water main break

Decatur city crews are trying to repair a break in a 20 inch water transmission line between Decatur and Bridgeport.  Decatur water superintendent Doyle Green said repairs were going to take some time. “We’d like to ask people not to water their lawns and to limit outdoor watering,” Green said.
