Correction

The May 29, 2011, article “Council returns powers to mayor” incorrectly stated that several ordinances related to mayoral powers passed by 3-2 votes in Aug. 2010. All the motions were passed unanimously except for one pertaining to “officers of the city.” It passed 4-1.

Commissioners agree to radio system

Commissioners approved purchasing a new countywide radio system for a cost of $1,476,179, which will be designed and installed by EFJohnson Technologies of Irving. The decision came in their regular meeting Monday morning after a discussion about Federal Communications Commission licenses and tower contracts. Investigators searching for stolen property

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office dive team spent much of the afternoon on Lake Bridgeport searching for possible stolen property. No other details were available.
