DISD Education Foundation begins 2010-2011 fund drive

The Decatur ISD Education Foundation held its annual Donors Appreciation Luncheon to kick off the annual drive for the foundation on Nov. 4. The goal for the 2010-11 fund drive is $50,000, and the drive will continue until Jan. 31. This year the foundation has raised $34,490 in donations and pledges. Students collect for local food bank

Students at Boyd Middle and Intermediate schools collected 1,900 cans during a canned-food drive organized by the BMS Student Council. The cans were donated to South Wise Services. The seventh and eighth grade homeroom classes that collected the most cans during the drive earned the opportunity to throw pies at BMS faculty Nov. 17.
