Ice storm warning issued for Wise County

The National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for Wise County Wednesday through Thursday, with potential accumulation that could result in power outages and make travel conditions even worse.

Icy conditions shut down U.S. 81/287


Due to icy conditions, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced Monday night the closure of U.S. 81/287 northbound in Alvord.

Storms bringing a mixture of sleet and freezing rain began moving through Wise County Monday afternoon, worsening road conditions with temperatures expected to remain under freezing through Wednesday.
