BOIL WATER NOTICE — The City of Boyd issued a boil water notice Tuesday after a water main was damaged. According to the city, water system pressure fell below 20 psi across the entire system. Water for drinking, cooking and ice-making should be boiled and cooled before consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. After testing the water, the city will notify customers about lifting the notice. The City of Alvord lifted their boil water notice Tuesday for a separate water line leak over the weekend on Elm Street after receiving lab results on the water samples.

BOYS BASKETBALL RESULTS — Decatur (1-1) suffered its first loss against Wichita Falls Rider Tuesday, 54-50. Bridgeport (0-2) was tripped up by Iowa Park, 63-47. Boyd (1-0) earned its first win by defeating Denton Calvary, 55-49. Paradise (0-1) lost in overtime against Henrietta Midway, 67-64. Alvord (0-1) fell to Poolville, 69-60. Chico earned a 45-39 win over Forestburg. Slidell lost to Graford, 68-55.

GIRLS BASKETBALL RESULTS — Decatur (2-1) picked up a win over Iowa Park in the Lady Eagles’ home opener Tuesday, 56-25. Bridgeport fell to 1-3 after a 54-35 loss to Argyle Liberty Christian. Boyd (1-1) earned its first victory by defeating Denton Calvary, 32-30. Slidell (2-1) edged Paradise (2-1) in a Wise County battle, 38-37. Alvord (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season against S&S, 59-46. Chico improved to 2-1 with a 50-23 win over Forestburg.

CHAMBER RIBBON CUTTING — The Wise County Chamber will hold a joint ribbon cutting and open house for two new members, Wise Body Sculpt and Texas Chic Facial Spa, 4-6 p.m. today at 1105 Hovey St. in Bridgeport.

GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY MEETING — The Wise County Genealogical Society will meet 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Decatur. Ronald Womack will present “Speaking of Family, Let’s Talk.”

SYSTEM MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED — The City of Bridgeport will conduct annual routine system maintenance Thursday. During this time, city offices will not be able to accept credit card payments and will have minimal computer access. Call city hall at 940-683-3400.

MOBILE FOOD PANTRY — U-Turn World Ministries will host a Tarrant Area Food Bank mobile food pantry 2-5 p.m. today at the church, 306 N. Texas 101, in Chico. A mobile food truck will deliver food to the location, and it will be distributed in a drive-thru. The food pantry is being held a week early this month due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

TEEN EVENT AT LIBRARY — The Decatur Public Library will hold a teen event 5 p.m. Thursday. Teens will make mini pies and play fall-themed games. Call the library at 940-393-0290.

WISE COUNTY AGGIE MOMS — Wise County Aggie Moms are collecting goodie bags to send to Aggie children in College Station just in time for finals. Bags are full of treats and will be delivered to the campus for your child. Contact Susan Coffman, 940-366-0186.

OFFICE CLOSED — The Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace office of Jan Morrow will be closed today so staff may attend the service for Kenneth “Huskey” Morrow.

DIABETES CLASSES — Total Diabetes Care will offer a free diabetes class 2-3 p.m. today at the Decatur Public Library. This month’s topic is “Fall in Love with Foods: Eating During the Holidays with Diabetes.”

HISTORICAL MEETINGS — The fourth quarter meeting of the Wise County Historical Commission is 1 p.m. Thursday to be followed by the monthly meeting of the Wise County Historical Society at 2. Both meetings will be held in the seating area of the G.C. Rann Auditorium of the Wise County Heritage Museum in Decatur. Lunch will not be served this month.
